Resolve on the other hand started as a colorist tool, but BMD has been adding on feature after feature. Personally, I'm hoping to see more of the tools integrated in with the editor.

The software is now undergoing a radical redesign, both in terms of the UI (which is quite mature) as well as features. Audio work is usually done with ProTools (again, MC has basic audio editing tools). Color work is done in Symphony (an option) or Baselight (MC has a good though basic color editor).
For filters etc., Boris CC is usually the goto. For much of everything else, MC is reliant on 3rd party software. This followed the Studio method of film making (rough cut, final cut, color work, audio editing, FX, etc.) which were often done by different specialists.
